ZOMBIE ARMY 4

Technical Designer

DESCRIPTION

This project had been worked on with a collaboration between RADICAL FORGE, Flix Interactive & Rebellion.

During my time on ZA4, I have been responsible for different areas of it's design; Level Design, Encounter Design, and Cutscene Creation & Implementation.

Terminal Error, Abaddon Asylum & Return To Hell are levels adapted from pre-existing levels either from Sniper Elite or from the base Zombie Army 4 game. We took these levels as requested and made changes to their layouts whilst making them work for the new objectives designed and making sure they all played well considering the new gameplay.

Ragnarok is new, entirely bespoke, and where I spent the majority of my time. It was here that I helped design from blockout all the way up until release. I have been responsible for large sections of it's level design as well as the related enemy encounters and objectives. I have even worked on some of the larger cutscenes such as the Nuke Drop at the end of Ragnarok part II and the Clone Commander appearances towards the end of Ragnarok Part I, chapter 1.

  • Designed and implemented balanced enemy encounters designed to encourage player behaviour

  • Helped design the objectives to be present in the final mission

  • Reworked old locations with new layouts to match the gameplay of Zombie Army 4

  • Helped populate the open world spaces with enemies and encounters
